What is Parkour in Schools?

Parkour in schools is the delivery of structured, progressive movement education within the school timetable. Movement Matters delivers parkour-based sessions that develop balance, coordination, spatial awareness, confidence and emotional regulation. Sessions are curriculum-aligned, SEN-inclusive and led by DBS-checked coaches. Unlike traditional PE, parkour engages pupils through challenge and exploration, building not just physical skills but also focus, resilience and problem-solving abilities.

110+ Pupils Daily

We reach over 110 young people every school day through parkour and movement sessions.

5 Sessions Per Day

We deliver multiple sessions daily across primary and secondary schools, maximizing reach and impact.

100% DBS Checked

Every coach holds an enhanced DBS check and is trained in safeguarding and inclusive practice.

How Does Parkour Fit the National Curriculum?

Parkour is increasingly recognised within the National PE Curriculum and aligns perfectly with wider educational outcomes. Movement Matters sessions deliver multiple curriculum benefits simultaneously, making them an efficient use of curriculum time.

PE & Physical Development

  • Physical Literacy: Progressive development of balance, coordination and body awareness
  • Strength and Conditioning: Functional movement patterns that build usable strength
  • Spatial Awareness: Understanding position, momentum and environmental navigation
  • Risk Assessment: Learning to evaluate and manage physical challenge appropriately

PSHE & Wellbeing

  • Confidence Building: Success in movement challenges translates to self-belief
  • Resilience: Learning from attempts, managing frustration and persistence
  • Focus & Attention: Movement challenges demand and develop concentration
  • Teamwork: Supporting peers, spotting and collaborative challenges

Science Integration

Parkour delivers excellent opportunities for cross-curricular science learning. We can incorporate vestibular system activation, proprioception, neural pathways and biomechanics into sessions, giving pupils practical understanding of how their bodies work.

Why Choose Movement Matters for Parkour in Schools?

University Partnership

We are the only school parkour provider in the UK backed by academic research. Our partnership with Liverpool John Moores University means our methodology is evidence-based and continuously refined through research.

Evidence-Based Methodology

Our approach is grounded in understanding how movement impacts brain development. Vestibular activation improves focus, balance training enhances confidence, and challenge experiences build resilience. Pupils show measurable improvements in attention, behaviour and engagement.

SEN Inclusive

Every session is fully adaptive. We have extensive experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, SEMH and physical disabilities. Our coaches differentiate activities seamlessly so every pupil can participate and experience success.

We Come to You

No need to travel. We bring all equipment and deliver in your school space. Sessions can run in sports halls, playgrounds or adapted indoor areas. Your pupils, your venue, your convenience.
